Well as you may know by now cookies and cakes are my latest passion! I’ve even made a site for them, although I might make a full-blown site one day, right now it’s just a blog. Check it out: That’s Pretty Sweet!
My butter cream class is done! Yay! Thats one class down and three to go.
Next up is fondant & royal icing classes. I’ve decided I want to tackle classes 2 & 3 in the same month, should be exciting. I guess I’m a little impatient.
I like to keep a journal, it mostly contains boring day-to-day stuff. As I grow older I find my memory isn’t what it was, so those day-to-day boring entries help me remember.
I’ve been keeping an online journal for years, last I checked I had over 600 entries. Unfortunately the place I use – Momolog doesn’t have an Android app, so I’ve been looking for a replacement and I’ve been failing miserably!
Oh Android has plenty of diary/journalling programs, but I’ve been looking for one that will let me import my over 600 prior entries, journal online (in a browser window) and have an Android app so I can make entries on the fly.
I’ve checked at least 10 different servies, SpringPad, Evernote, Tumblr, My Diary, LiveJournal, Memories, etc etc, some of them are great, but most don’t have an import feature, which is a deal-breaker (In the words of Liz Lemon).
Image via CrunchBaseLong story longer, I finally found Penzu, which I think will work well for me. It’s got a nice interface, an Android app and most importantly import/export! Yay! I may continue my boring pontification about what I had for lunch of last Tuesday!
Anyway, here’s a link if you wanna check it out. It’s usually $19 a year, but the link will let you have it for almost $4 less (20% off). Plus I get an extension on my account for the referral. Win/win!

Heres some weird garbage people threw in my yard.

the pile includes a pair of playoffs shorts, a broken 3 Doors Down CD, a beer can and other assorted crap. People are just lovely…
Sculpting
I’ve been trying my hand at sculpting in clay lately, making busts.
My first was a smallish elf looking person.
Then, I decided to go life size, for some reason it ended up looking a bit like George Bush. I didn’t slip and score him enough so parts of his scalp popped off during the firing.
My third piece is another full size, he is still in the drying stage. While Singh it started developing some cracks along the seems, hopefully he wont break in the firing.
My latest piece is a half seize gargoyle. I used a different kind of clay, one more suited for sculpting, so hopefully I’ll have less problems with cracking.
Ive been working on a set of salt & pepper shakers in the shape of cats. I plan to make molds of them, so I can make multiple sets. I plan to paint them to look like different breeds of cats, maybe a few abstract ones add well.
Here they are in the green ware stage.
